Homemade bike stand instructions and video. The video link is here and at the bottom of the instructions. I have recently thru-bolted the hinges instead of just wood screws to hold them in place. If I were making this today, I would use some sort of plastic wood instead. I have to throw some weight on the front of the bike to keep the rear lifted when working on the back end of the bike.

NOTE: I had to do some hacking to fit the basket and adapter to the bike. The goal is to have it solidly attached, but easy to remove for folding. I added two 10" lengths of 2" PVC plumbing pipe with a rubber bungee running through the two pipes to hold it under the basket for side-to-side stabilization. The bungee goes in at the front and through the pipes to hook onto the basket (zoom the photo). Heavier loads are tied down with rope to the bike's solid frame using trucker's hitch side to side and front to back.

I wonder why you have another handlebar & step fitted? The mirrors come out of the bar ends, so there's really no need for another handlebar. It seems to be a bunch of unnecessary weight.

Being an ebike, weight isn't a concern for my average 17 mile round trips. Some use handlebars with extra crosspieces for mounting things. I wanted to be able to adjust the working bar exactly to my preference and the way that mounted left me with the old handlebar to use or remove. It puts the mirrors forward and up a little higher and away from my hands. The extra bar leaves me with more room for future stuff like a dash cam and why not? It's been ok for me on both bikes. I don't hang a basket out front and this bar weighs next to nothing. I carry extra tools and a bag in my basket to dump in road debris that would otherwise end up in somebody's tires. I probably carry more weight in nails, bolts, screws and misc. car parts off of the road than that bar weighs. I just wish Lectric would have put a USB port on the front end somewhere to make it easy to power a dash camera - my next addition when I figure it out.

I really like what you've done to your bike. I think that was a good decision to leave the old handlebars on the bike for better mirror placement. If you put those endbar mirrors on your grips then they would have been harder to actually see behind you. Yes sir, I think I might give this set up a try. At first I was like in shock, then it started to sink in. You sure thought outside the box on this one. Good job! Nice of you to haul that tire for that guy. Nice things like that are what gives us hope in humanity. It's not all road rage going on out there. There are a few nice people still making behind the scene appearances.
