Still looks chain drive to me. Did they remove a model from your linked page, or ...?
Ah, welcome! I recognize the username from bikeforums.net/Electric Bikes sub. You'll find this forum has more eBike traffic than the sub at bikeforums.net.I'm onboard...
To answer my own question above, only the "JW" suffix model has belt drive, and it's only available in black:Still looks chain drive to me. Did they remove a model from your linked page, or ...?
I still have the regular, "non-elite" headlight on mine. I used it a couple times for nighttime riding, but I found it is only good for maybe 10 mph and for being seen. I remember switching it on and off in the dark on a bike path through the woods. It was dark, but there was still moonlight. I couldn't decide if it was better with the light on, but my night vision wrecked by it, or light off with eyes adjusted for the dark and having the moonlight. :-DYup! As you see, it's a belt drive. I like the bike, and I've installed the rack and mudguards, as well as swapped out the "elite" headlight (which was worthless for night time riding, except for really being seen)
Which model of Cloud 9? I find their Giant Seat is fine. I just need to lean it back a bit further. I rode the bike about 21 miles yesterday on it. The seat shock is not awesome, like a Suntour NCX, but it makes a difference, along with the light springing effect in the seat and fattish tires. (2.5" wide?)for a Juiced Ebkes LED headlight. The seat, even their upgraded springer, sucked! Cloud 9 is now in its place w/the suspension seatpost.
Yeah, I find that with the handlebar all the way up, it kind of pulls on the wiring at full lock in one direction, so I leave it a bit lower, and a BMX bar would help here. (but would make it a lot less compact when folded, so I didn't do it)Also, I popped on a different BMX bar. My hands and wrists were getting numb, and even being 5'10, the distance between seat and handlebars was just not working for me.
I'm a bit shorter than you at 5'8, so my shoes are probably a bit smaller too and I don't have the heel strike problem on the kickstand. They shortened the frame, compared to the regular XP series; maybe a bit too much for taller riders.I do have one thing that COMPLETELY drives me insane, and is a bit of a safety concern. The rear kickstand is too close to my heel. I keep getting the back of my foot caught, and I almost fell because of it while climbing a small banked curb. I'm probably going to swap that out for a dual leg kickstand instead. No more rolling it backwards, but it's worth the inconvenience. Oh, yeah, I'm also going to do the dual battery upgrade, eventually, as well.
