Kuat crash

We were in route to an epic day of riding near Mt Whitney yesterday when we were rear ended shortly after our trip began. Completely destroyed our Kuat and also damaged the wife’s Levo pretty badly. My Pivot came away with a bent rotor and a slight scratch that might be buffable.
Today we bought an upgraded Kuat with the built in taillights also being much heavier duty. Bikes are in the shop and intending to try the trip again in about a week.
No one was hurt and the lady who hit us immediately took responsibility and more than remorseful so could have been worse.

It is good to see that the rack “crumpled” rather than staying rigid and causing the hitch to damage your car’s “frame”, (I guess it’s still considered a frame).
