Just Pondering - Cadence vs torque sensor and riding in the snow

Now that there is snow on the ground here I'm done biking for the season, just can't risk it at my age.
So I was sitting here ruminating about riding in the snow and it suddenly occurred to me that having a torque sensing mid drive bike with it's variable power curve would probably be a lot more snow-friendly than a cadence sensor based "on/off" hub drive bike.

Does anyone have enough experience to chime in on this? Does it make a difference at all?
