Hiya mate and Welcime Welcome to the forums!

What brand of ebike is that from, prolly need a bit more info ;)

ADO air 20
It's good to see Ado is trying to keep parts stocked for their bikes. Google "adoebikes.com replacement parts" and a parts site will come up. You need to chat with them anyway to make sure it will match your current display. I've seen them reviewed on "Electroheads". I wish I had an ebike light enough to carry on to a train. Let us know if it gets complicated.

The Parts whisperer !

Question would you be willing to help me find some of the other electrical parts I will need for my project?
Hey BiggKidd, I can give it a try, especially if you know the part and can't find it. I have to say, I've tried to understand some of what you're attempting with permanent magnet motors and the parameters are way beyond my knowledge base, so coming up with compatible parts wouldn't be too likely. You had wondered if those magnet motors should spin freely when not powered, so I googled it and half the internet, said yes and the other half of the internet, said no, that's when I realized I have no idea what you are doing.:giggle:

Thank you lets take this over to my thread so we don't take this one off topic.

Hi, that's not an Ado air as far as I can tell. It looks like some of the rebranded chinese ebikes. I could not find a match for it. Can you tell us your motor size and voltage and repost a photo of the controller, close up? I can't read that photo, spread out the plugs, so I can see all of them. What sort of plug runs to your motor is it a 9 pin? You're going to have to buy a generic controller, which means, you will also need a new matching display. You will probably be able to find one on Aliexpress or Ebay, but things did just become more complex.

Hi Annie it's a 400w motor and 36v a 9 pin that goes to motor I'm lucky then if it's not an ADO cause I didn't pay much for it I have a cpl. Of SW 900 displays what sort of controller do I need to get do U think ? Thank you in advance

Displays are programmed by companies to match certain controllers they have acquired. They are not likely to match any other controller out there, especially when an ebike is somewhat generic, so to have success you need to get a display with your controller. You also need to match your plugs to whatever setup you have. I'll post an example from Ebay which labels some plugs and one from Aliexpress which shows the waterproof julet plugs. 17amps should be fine for 36v 250w motor, sinewave is always better and check the dimensions for fit, although most of these will be pretty small because you have a small motor. Also, If you are not allowed a throttle you can just leave that unplugged. I should mention, a lot of people like KT controllers because they are infinitely programmable, but you will have to watch some videos on that to see if that is something you want to get into and you will need to choose a KT display to go with it. Finally, all of the prices I come up with may be skewed because of our ridiculous tariff situation, so I'm sure you can do better looking them up from down your way.
