I am curious to know if anyone else is having an issue getting a controller for BBS02B-48V-750W

Bafang CR R209-750SN controller...

I have searched, and these are the results. I have spoken to Luna, "Out of Stock". I found 3 different companies on Amazon selling them, they all said they were in stock, yet when I went to actually place the order and checked that I needed 48V 750W new version, they all said "out of stock". So I went to Aliexpress, Allbaba, Walmart, plus I went to every referral I found reading in this forum. No one seems to have just the controller.

I was able to place the order on AliExpress, only to get an email from the supplier asking me to cancel my order so I could get a refund. (Yes, I have the email.) They said I would have to order straight from the store in China. The email came just 2 days before I was supposed to get the controller.

But here is the rub, apparently the BBSHD controllers are everywhere, same with the BBS02 (Old version). I can buy a whole BBS02B conversion kit and have it at my house tomorrow. I do not want to spend that kind of money in our current economy with Xmas, the trip my GF and I are going for her bday to Seychelles for 14 days, plus my lovely daughter and husband decided to make me a grandpa, all happening in the next 4 months. Yet, strangely, in my search, I was able to find BBS02B-48V-500W conversion kit brand new for about 20 bucks over what the 750W controller would cost. I emailed the company, and they said I could have it in 2 business days if I pay for the shipping. Now, I would not even know where to begin to modify those 2 together, so I don't want to go there.

I was wondering if anyone else had the same problem, and hopefully, maybe some referrals on where to check that I might not have checked yet,

Bafang has been moving more towards their Canbus protocol, between that and the tariff situation, a lot of parts are currently hard to find. If the tariffs remain illegal, then sellers will return to Aliexpress and Amazon. I am revising this because I think you are looking only for the 2016 controller is that correct? Let me check back.

OK, correct me if I'm wrong, but you need the 48v, 750w bbs02 older version. Risunmotor on Ebay has it and it says tariffs are included. The delivery date, basically would be some time in Sept. I'm still a bit confused, the number you list above is for the older version and yet you said you want the bbs02b, new version? I will post the 2 different ones here, so you can choose.They are both on Ebay.

I will have to check if that was one of the ones I tried on ebay. I tried both there and Amazon first.. A few companies... I found a few that say the end of September is when they can get it here.. I really do not want to go that route, especially with as many mid-drives are out there. You would not think someone would have to wait that long. You would think that one of the companies that sells them would get a controller or two to go with the whole kits they are stocking in consignment warehouses.

That seems to be the old one and if you look at the picture from Risonmotor it looks like the old one. They have an area on that Ebay page where they ask you to message them to verify which model you need. I think you should talk to them because they have many different models in stock.

You seem to forget that we are living in an absurd tariff situation where most boats are not even leaving China because they don't know what they will owe when they get here. Many, many web pages on Aliexpress are shut down. Who would want to sell to us when we are mercurial and impossible. I have two parts out there that I will be lucky to see by Christmas. This is where we are now.

Risonmotor is definitely one I tried. Luna also.. But I will verify which one I need, with the way you said too..

This is kind of the reason when a few cells went out in my battery, I decided to buy a new one, but also as a project, to see if I could repair the old one.. Things are going to be messed up for some time. I was born in KY, served in the Army for 20 years and when my GF and I go to Seychelles for 2 weeks next month, I cracked the joke, "Are we sure we won't get detained coming back into the country? I mean we are heading to the middle of the Indian Ocean about 1500 miles from the coast of Africa." She did not like my joke.. LOL

Risunmotor on Ebay does have 2 of them and they would arrive mid Sept. Best of luck on your vacation. Maybe you should bring your old dogtags with you just in case ( they get embarrassed when they realize they are detaining a veteran).

Wanted to update the post.

I got my new controller. A week earlier than was said when I ordered it. I did not realize that putting it back on would be a little tricky. After a little nudging and a couple of drops of rubber cement to hold the gasket on while I did the nudging, everything went together fine. Just got back from a 15 mile ride with it.
