E-bikes are important commuters, but over time they can show symptoms of rust that you can either have a professional remove or do it yourself.
1. Use vinegar. Apply vinegar to the rusted areas. Use a toothbrush to remove rust while applying vinegar. Let stand for ten to fifteen minutes. Use a hose to flush the e-bike and avoid acid overload. Also, dry the e-bike before storing it.
2. Baking soda. Mix equal parts baking soda and water to make a thick paste. Apply the paste directly to the affected area with a spatula or brush or sponge or the like. Leave on the e-bike for 10-15 minutes. Remove the paste with a scrub, sponge or toothbrush. Dry the e-bike and put away.
3. Chemical rust remover. Spray chemical rust remover on the rusted area, wait 30 minutes and wipe with a clean cloth. If the rust is severe, then you will need to leave the chemical rust remover on the affected area overnight.
