I always only use throttle, both batteries on. 20miles a day, 3-4 days a charge, pretty good. So the 150miles range advertised is PAS I think? And the battery under the seat has a red light even fully charged, so it's normal? If the first battery is fully charged, I think it's better leave the second one at home to lose some weight.

I've started leaving the second battery at home for most trips. too.
And I've got 166 miles on the bike

I am considering purchasing an Emma 3.0 and wondered if both batteries can be charged while installed on the bike?

I am assuming that you would need two chargers to charge both batteries simultaneously?
Yes, you would need two chargers.

EDIT: I posted this answer before I actually looked at the bike to see that there were not two charger ports. Like most old farts, I have a tendency to think I know everything. But my wife knows otherwise.

Can both batteries be charged while installed on the bike? In other words, are the charging ports accessible when the batteries are installed?

Yes and partly yes.
Only the front battery has a charging port. So, I'm assuming that the electrical system allows the rear battery to charge whenever it's plugged in.

Hills? I live in the flatlands of middle Minnesota. I've got one hill near me that I've been up one time throttle only. I had no trouble. Coming back down I hit 37 mph. With the 1500 watt motor, you should have no problems with normal hills.

You will need to get into the parameters and adjust the max speed?
I love my Emma 3 and recommend that you get one.

Wicklow, you're right. There is a charging port on the rear underside of the back battery near the on-off switch. I missed it. So a second charger might be handy to have.
