I just got back from a ride on the trails around here on my new e-bike. It’s a Specialized Turbo Levo. First time off the pavement.
And it is a MUDDY MESS.
On my unpowered bike I would just hose it off and ride it around for 5 minutes and it would be fine. But I’m kinda hesitant to hit the new one with any kind of pressure.
Do you guys remove the battery before a post-ride rinse? Do you use lower pressure and a brush or ???
I do not want to F the bike up by getting water where it shouldn’t be.

low pressure bug sprayer. Two of them. One has a mixture of water and Simple Green. The other just water for the rinse cycle.

The bug sprayer gives enough pressure to dislodger crud, but not so much it affects connections. I have to be careful of course to not do something dumb like spray into the battery cradle etc.

I used a garden hose to blast all of the mud off the tires (only) and just wiped the frame for now but it’s not as clean as I’d like it.

I try not to wash it much, I'm really lazy, and I'm too old to be riding in or near mud. But if I have to wash my e-bike or motorcycle I use low pressure water, soft brush and cleaning wipes and a towel to dry along with my leaf blower on it's lowest setting.

Like Mysery.....I don't do mud riding....also too old. With that said.....I have a compressor in my shop......I use air to blow off my JD lawn tractor and my Yanmar tractor....they both can get pretty dirty. Air work well for lots of cleaning. After blowing off mud or debrie....I just wipe my tractors down with damp rag. I have also used air to blow....mostly dust....off my ebike. That also works well.....then I wipe down with dry rag.
