How do you fix an Electric Bike?

My electric bike broke down long time ago and it is just sitting there and I need to get it fixed or my brother wont stop howling at me. It kinda looks like this :
I turn on the switch, I've Plugged in the wire for the power, and I've turned the handle for it to go, but it wont move at all! I've been riding this bike for a while, so I know how to use it. But it just all of sudden started not working on me and I cant seem to find out why.

The first thing to do is to check that the battery is still holding charge. It may say that it is charged but it could be that the battery has reached the end of its life and needs to be replaced.
