I just built an e-trike and it work just fine but I was wondering what's the best way to shut it off?

Right now I'm using the interface plug between the battery and the motor to shut it off but there must be a better way. In time I'm sure the plug will wear and the connection will not be as solid. A switch? Something else? I'd appreciate hearing what others have done.

Regards,

Tom

Hi Tom, it depends on your build. I would have probably put a keyed switch in between the battery and controller, so that the battery is de-energized when the bike is turned off, and so that if it were stolen, the thief would have to figure out how to hotwire it.

Alternatively, you could hide a regular switch with this function, if you don't want to buy and install a keyed switch.
