Heybike Ranger S Reviews

New here, just got my Heybike Ranger S last night and went 36 miles in the last 24 hours, and love it!
Nice! The Ranger S is a solid choice — 36 miles in your first day means you’re definitely making the most of it. That new-bike grin is hard to beat. Curious what kind of riding you’ve been doing so far — trails, streets, or a bit of both?

I've made a few upgrades to mine, including a suspension seat post, more comfy saddle and a 54 tooth chain ring. The Twin Cities area on MN is one of the best in the country for biking. During the week I go online & find trails to hit, and on the weekend I'm out riding. I prefer paved paths and have been enjoying every ride.

I now have over 125 miles on my Ranger S 1Kw and I am so happy with my decision to buy one. The twin cities area of Minnesota has so many bike trails which range from city to wooded riding and everything in between. The bike has allowed me to take on any trail with ease, including going up some very steep inclines. The modifications I have made have further enhanced my enjoyment of folding up the bike, tossing it in the back of my car and heading out to my next adventure. My average speed is 13 MPH and I can finish a 13 mile ride still ready to go more. I'm still working on the best method for folding and the best way to insert it into my small crossover with the rear seats folded. I do take the batter off to decrease the overall weight. I also will do some throttle only runs around my neighborhood to drain the battery before recharging, but I have never come close to running out of power on any of my rides. This is my first ebike and I would absolutely recommend Heybike to anyone shopping for an ebike.

Cool wheels! Wife and I got spokes (less cool/more repairable I guess). Agree that folding must be both a learning and technique thing, it kicked my behind the time I tried it. But also agree this little goat has no trouble with hills (packed gravel even!).

True- and now that I have some miles on the bike I can see the need. Did you just swap the ring or the whole crank?

Do the brakes screech, like they did on my Ranger?

I did like the cast wheels and overall design though.

Can't speak for him, but my pair of Ranger 3.0s are quiet.
I think I had Ranger 1.0. Probably went from metal planet gears in the motor to nylon. Solved the noise complaints maybe as the risk of some long-term durability.

He was asking for brakes- the motor sounds like metal gears (to me, might be wrong).
