I've had the Heybike Racemax for a month. My son tipped the bike over around a dirt turn. Currently there is an "E 34" code on the display. The bikes pedal assist works but not the throttle. We purchased two bikes at the same time so I was able to disconnect the throttle from my other bike and connect it to "E 34" bike. The code does not go away when I do this. (I cycled the power/display after connecting as well to see if it needed turn off to remove code too, no luck)

We really like these bikes. My teenagers love to use them to get to numerous destinations that were out of reach with standard mountain bikes.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

You can usually determine a lot from a quick Google search. Below is a link I got from one such search. I also searched error e-34 and saw it is typically related to battery connections. These are good places to start. May not be the issue, but may help narrow it down

I couldn't find much except it was related to the Throttle. Throttle makes sense to me since it doesn't work but the automatic pedal assist does work.
I will try to do a reset again. My display doesn't provide the same options as in the instructions though.

Darn. Sorry. Freaking bikes sometimes.

I know nothing about this particular bike but it looks like some conversion kits. Do you know where your controller is? Since not much is internal on this bike, it makes me wonder. Some bikes have it in the battery base, some the motor. My line of thought is that the wiring harness usually plugs in at each end, the attached devices and into the controllerbox. You've checked the devices and tried a different throttle but if it jarred a plug at the opposite end it would still be no go. Let us know how it goes.

Does anyone have a wiring diagram for Heybike Race 27.5? My issue is in between throttle connection and hub connection. I was able to confirm this by.

1st. Connected the "E34" bike throttle to the good bike...no error, wheel turned. I then reconnected as it should be.

2nd. I connect the hub (connection below pedal) of the "E34" to the good bike and the good bike powered the "E34" hub.

This tells me my issue is in between the throttle connect and the hub connection.

I remove battery pack and checked all wires. This task is very difficult due to lack of room to see. I might have missed something.
If I had a wiring diagram for the throttle it might be easier.

I need to get this bike back on the road!!!!!!

Hi there, I'm not sure if I'm understanding or not but Heybike has the intermediate cable for your model, the Racemax, for $39.00. I think that is where you are saying you are having the problem, is that right? They say you can get it by 5/10.

Hang on, heybike lists the battery base as the entire controller. They have that too. I can't tell from your testing which you need but I'm guessing you can. Does this make sense?

This last shot is a picture of the cable, so you know what it looks like. They are all from Heybike.com. I'm impressed that they keep all these components available. It's great that you have a second bike. You should be able to test out each of these and see exactly what need. When the goin' gets tough keep a goin'. Let us know what happens.

Having the same problem. I have replaced throttle as well as controller. I am now waiting on a new wiring harness which should be here in a couple days. I will update to let you know if this fixes my problem. Also idk if you are having all of the same issues but my light and horn are also not working.

Since this all started, at the top, with a slight crash, I thought it might be good to note that R4yD8R, over in the Battery Forum, has a post about certain battery based controllers having a flaw in the power wires chafing on metal, where they exit part of the holder. This is something to take note of if you are trying to hunt down a short and have a controller in the base of your battery.

Thank you for this advice. I ordered both the main cable and controller the day you posted this. The main cable arrive within a week. I just received the controller last week and was able to switch over both parts successfully. We are back on the road. The only one that would not connect properly is the pedal assist sensor. But I will purchase a new one on Hey Bike website. Thank you for your help
