Hello,
I have an aostirmotor so7. It stopped working. I tested the motor, it is fine. The display still works fine and doesn’t show an error code. So something is preventing power from getting to the motor. However, I don’t see any problems with the wiring itself. My girlfriend was riding it at the time and before it stopped working she did smell an electrical burning smell. Is it possible my controller is shot? And yet the display still functions? I’ve been unable to locate a fuse in the battery compartment or the controller after opening it . unfortunately, the stock controller is rather expensive. I am half tempted to just buy a cheap Amazon 1500 W E bike conversion kit and put it on for kicks if I can’t figure this out but if anyone has any thoughts on this situation, I would appreciate any feedback thank you.

Have you tried temporally unhooking the brake cut outs? Did you check all the pins in the motor plug? After that my guess would be the controller considering the way it failed.

I haven’t tried disconnecting the brake cut outs, but I will do that. I didn’t test each individual pin for the motor because I actually have Two of the exact same model so I actually just switched cables and the still working bike worked the motor with no problem. Thank you for the advice

If you or she smelled something I'd be feeling and looking at all the wires and especially the connectors / plugs. Also use your ears if the insulation burned on the wires it'll make a little crackling type noise when bent back and forth. If you can feel differences in the wire look at them closely. Test them if you have a multimeter.

Thanks for all of your advice. I did pinpoint it to the controller and I ordered a new one. Unfortunately.Aostirmotor discontinued the controller from my bike so I had to get NOS stock which was kind of expensive. But at least I’ll be able to plug it in with the original connectors and I’ll save me some time.

By the way, I did try pinpointing the problem wire in the controller, but was unsuccessful
