Hi all,

I wanted to introduce myself, I'm an avid motorcycle rider but as age and weight creeps up on me (I'm 51 and fat), I felt like an E-bike would be a logical way to engage my riding urge with some exercise.
Since I've spent all my play money on motorcycles, I could only afford a generic Chinese bike for now (I know, I know...). I got a dual motor fat tire bike, 26" wheels and 2000W 52V. The bike is stupidly fast on dual motors and I need to figure out how to turn the PAS down, as the bike takes off flying when I start to pedal and I can't keep up even on 1 - I'm just ghost pedaling straight away, which defeats the purpose. I've only ridden the thing around the yard twice, so I'll RTFM and figure that part out.

My first question is going to be how to locate a smaller chainring, I'll look up the appropriate subforum in a minute. I can barely get the 85Lb bike moving with my lard butt on it right now without power, so I'd like to knock off some front teeth to make that easier.

Anyway, hi, I'm glad to be here.

Don't knock those 1000w dual motor chinese bikes to hard they are actually pretty decent in my opinion. So in PAS1 you should be able to comfortably pedal in gear 7 at 12-15mph. A 11-28t freewheel will let you pedal in PAS 2 and maybe 3 then a larger chainring in combo will let you pedal in the higher PAS settings. Personally with my bike very similar to yours except 48 volts I never even use the lowest 3 gears or I feel like a sowing machine going no where. With a 11-28t freewheel and 48T chainring 5th works pretty good for PAS1 @ 13mph, 6th gear PAS2 @ 18mph, and 7th PAS3 @23mph. YMMV I bought a 60T chainring so I can use PAS4 and 5 while still pedaling usefully, now I'm not sure there's any need as I seldom have any desire to ride faster than 23mph unless I'm outrunning dogs!

Thank you VERY much for that information. Much appreciated! I do like the bike, the welds look good and it's solidly built. I ordered a new rear shock because the one that's on there is made for an ordinary human and I'm XXtra ordinary ;)

I'd still like to lose a couple of teeth on the chainring so I can get pedal this thing unpowered. It'll largely be used on the area's extensive greenway bike trails that are limited to 15 MPH (glad for the speed limit setting on the bike) but I'll get it out where I can open it up before long.

I was able to enter the Personal Parameters in the display and disable PAS. That way the motors only engage when you use the throttle. You're supposed to be able to adjust the PAS strength/speed, etc. through the parameters, but I've read that it doesn't work with my bike. You may be able to do it with yours. I decided to just turn it off. Unfortunately, on my bike cruise control auto engages after a few seconds, which is bad. The parameter to turn it off doesn't work. The only way to disengage cruise control is to hit the brakes.

Welcome to the forum!

I'll give that a try. Thank you!

It's refreshing being on a forum where people are nice - I spend a lot of time on a motorcycle forum and they would have had me by the throat the second I mentioned being overweight.
Thank you all.
Yeah well a lot of people only believe in THEIR personal freedoms not yours or mine. I believe in live and let live, yet I also believe in standing up for anyone in distress! Especially if it's caused by power hungry idiots who think they rule.

Hey Spike, Welcome, I,m just to the north in Mo. and looking forward also to some trail rides and dropping some weight in the process. That is the main reason I purchased the e-bike. Not as transportation but a means to better overall health . I purchased a Chinese e-bike too couldn't see spending big bucks on something I wasn't sure I would like for not. Anyway, there are lots of great folks here and I've found them to be helpful and informative people.
