Hello All,

New to the forum but i'm in need of held with my MTB Ebike.

I'm still running 26" wheels but the weight of the motor and battery is affecting the ride and i'm having stand every time the paths get rough.

I cant pump the standard MTB tyres up any more so want to change to Motorbike tyres, is there anything on the market that's a straight swap that will cope with the weight better.

Thanks

Now that's a good question that we should look into.

Welcome to our humble home by the way

Does your ebike already have a suspension seatpost?

What is the width of the rim? does it accept wider tire for softer ride?

Hi.

It’s just a standard 26” 195 wheel ( I believe ).
No rear suspension on frame or seat.

Bike frame could except 2.75 wide tyre.
Needs to have thick walls as there’s a lot of weight on the back wheel.

What is "a lot of weight"?

If the frame only has clearance for 2.75 width tire; likely you might not be able to find tire options to support much more weight.

I’m 80kg, 1000w hub motor and battery on frame weighs around 4 kg.
It’s a basic MTB but might be able to push to a 3 inch tyre.

Did you find anything? I'm in the same boat

I doubt you'll find a motorcycle type tire that will provide the type of smooth ride you seem to be looking for. It sounds like you did a conversion on your own pedal bike I would suggest you find another bike with fat tires 4" plus and swap the kit to the bike. Better yet find a bike with fat tires and suspension on front and rear.

Keep in mind if you are riding on really rough paths and trails none of this may smooth the ride to your liking.
