Hall motor abnormality

Trying to get my Schwinn Meridian up and running again. I had a Dillenger kit on it that worked great until the electronics got fried. I've contacted them but haven't had much luck getting a response. I bought a Chinese kit without the motor and battery since I already had three wheels with motors and thought I could match up the electronics with the motors. I'm not having much luck getting the wheels rolling so to speak. I keep getting an error message, the same message on three separate motors. Unfortunately, the Chinese kit that I purchased, although apparently of rather good quality, has no directions or labels (how shocking!) other than a nice guide to the LCD functions. I'm wondering what my next step should be as all three motors were working in the past yet I get the same error code when I hook each one up. Any suggestions from the experts here would be appreciated! Thanks!
