Many people are slightly Insulted by the nomenclature on the side of my top case bag, sometimes I don't think these Chinese manufacturers know what might be insulting in other societies. I found a car badge made of thin aluminum with stars and stripes on it and I used some vehicle emblem glue to apply it to the Bag to cover up that "unusual" word.

Secondly, as part of my overkill of bling on my step through bike, I've added some red valve cover caps, and red accented hand grips. I'm trying to make this bike look more masculine as a few people said "hey nice bike does it come in a men's style?"

I'm 62 and remember as a boy how we wouldn't be caught dead on a "girls" bike (i.e. step through). I still can't shake that feeling - and I don't need to. I want a cross bar, step OVER bike. you know....like a MAN!:giggle::giggle::giggle::giggle::giggle::giggle::giggle::giggle:

Luckily I'm old and married now and I don't care much what the knuckle-draggers think. I generally prefer the LOOK of step over, but when the crosstube is angled too far downward, it starts to look like a step-through anyway. At that point, one might as well have the convenience of step-through.

I have no knee or hip problems, but I bought my Level.2 in step-through because that design allowed better access to the water bottle bosses.

My only issue with step-thru’s are a potential weaker frame. A buddy has a fat tire step-thru and you can see from behind that the bike is a bit twisted out of center.

From Google earth - we have several of these around town.

I think you pasted in the wrong pic. I don't see any bikes here, just your favorite pho shop. ;)

I bought my daughter a tail bag with that brand too. Decent quality, but "JX F*ck-all" is so funny. I love it. They were so proud that it is permanently molded in! :sneaky:

They do the same thing with their western names. I've seen a dude by the name of Fish Wong. I'm sure he reasoned: "I like fish, so Fish will be my western first name!"

A simpler solution would be black permanent marker or paint.

Stepping away from "JX F*ck-all" for a moment...

Those are some pretty sharp-looking panniers you've got there; what are they?

I found the panniers on eBay, they were marked as used/vintage. when they arrived. They looked brand new unfaded still folded up, as if they were never taken out and used, with some research. I found that they were sold at REI apparently that brand was their store namebrand. No longer made I picked them up for $50. They were listed at $100 or best offer no rips, tears zippers all work perfectly. I'm happy.

Close-up of the aluminum badge I pasted over the Chinese brand-name. I had to use vehicle emblem glue to put them on since the hard side is actually really flexible, I've got to go to the paint store and get some MEK to remove the excess glue residue.

I had a nice set of Bontrager panniers. Bought new, used once, then sat around for several years. I sold them on ebay for something like $100 for the set. Wouldn't you know it, now I wish I had them back.

Might be time to find a sucker just like myself a year ago on ebay, hehehe.

Something will pop up on eBay, I think you might also want to check Etsy and Poshmark, by the way, what's the weather like right now in Wisconsin? Are you still able to ride or is there black ice around? It's getting a little cold out here in California, we're now down to 65° to 70° daytime riding temperature. Have to wear a sweater.

I'm a fat b****:ROFLMAO: so I prefer step through as it's easier to get on the bike lol. Plus I don't do crossbars because of an incident I had when I was 12. I was riding my mom's mountain bike and I had the bright idea of trying to do a bunny hop off the curb of my driveway, I did it and landed it but when I landed, I slid off the seat and hit my tenders on the crossbar. Laid in the street next to the curb and curled up for 5 minutes :ROFLMAO:

73 yrs old , 2 artificial hips, a bad knee and leg from a old injury. Doesn't bother me a bit that I ride a Aventure ST. Just trying to stay mobile. Not many good places to ride here, too many crazy drivers, couldn't care less about bikes. I rode a Harley for 20 yrs, it wasn't ST, obviously or pink. I definitely recommend a ST bike. Especially for older and or handicapped folks, or just your preference.

I love my Fucare Gemini but if I ever buy another eBike it will be step through and frankly I don't give a Flying F............if other People don't like the name of the Manufacturer of my beautiful Chinese made quality eBike. Btw. I am a 49er.

Cheers

With a new right side knee and hip......I love my step thru bike....still great exercise. I will admit.....I no longer ride wearing my Scottish Kilt.....got tired of construction workers catcalls.
I’ve been on chemo 4 years which has taken its toll on my static balance and muscle strength. My step thru addresses these issues as cocking my leg over a crossbar would result in a loss of balance and I haven’t the energy for pedalling a normal bike. My e-bike step thru allows me to get out and do a few miles a day to build my muscles up by using the lowest PAS setting I can manage.
