Has anyone put a GPS tracker on their ebike? I'm thinking about putting an Apple AirTag on my regular bike and when I buy a new ebike, use one there as well. I use AirTags on my office keys and one for my SUV fob.

Someone had mentioned an app called "relive" on this site. I haven't used it but the reviews look good.

As I understand it the trick w/airtags is to put them someplace hard to find, but easy to remove so you can recharge it.

Depending on your bike and space in frame. We supply a gps tracker to a Ebike company that installs them inside the frame. With regular use, its about 2-3 years on a set of energizer AA lithium batteries. Has a wifi sniffer, if it gets taken indoors, it can obtain its position from scanning Mac addresses if it can't get a GNSS fix.

I like the idea of GPS tracking, but here is my concern! What happens when you find where the bike is? I don't thin the police will be any help so who is going to confront whoever stole the bike?

If you have a police force that has bike-cops, believe me they'll do something. Stealing from a cyclist around those guys is like stepping into a blender.

That’s how I got my bike back, I called and told them I had located my stolen bike. I needed them to stand by while I recovered it. Wasn’t a problem getting them involved
