Having borrowed an e-bike from my son, I decided to figure out the settings. I collected information from various sources and decided to post it here - maybe it will be useful to someone.
To enter the parameters setting screen:
00 - Km.
01 - Miles (the default).
P2 - The rated voltage
Range: 24V, 36V, 48V, 52V (48V by default). Must fit the battery, so don't change if you don't change the battery.
P3 - Pedal assist (PAS) modes and their % ratios
Available modes: 0-3, 1-3, 0-5, 1-5, 1-7, 0-7, 0-9, 1-9 (0-5 by default).
Select the mode and click "i" to set the ratios (%) for each level of the mode.
The default ratios:
If you set a no-zero mode (for example, 1-9) and switch to its with-zero counterpart (0-9) or vise versa, your % settings stay the same, just a zero is added or removed.
P4 - Wheel Diameter
Don't change!
P5 - The number of the adjustable speed sensor magnets
Range: 1 ~ 15 psc (1 by default). Changes to this do nothing.
P6 - Speed limit
Range: 20-51 km/h (45 by default).
P7 - Controller current limit
Range: 1-21.5A (20 by default). Must fit the battery, so don't change if you don't change the battery.
P8 - PAS sensor settings
run (direction):
run-F - Forward (the default).
run-B - Backword.
Does anybody know what that means?
Scn (pedal lag / cadence sensor delay):
Range: 2-9 (9 by default). The higher the number, the more crank rotations it will take to activate the motor. Switch it to 2.
PAS (magnet settings):
Range: 5-31 (12 by default).
Does anybody know what that means and why would I want to change the number?
P9 - Throttle settings
HF (limit the throttle max speed by the max speed of the current assist level):
Y - Limit. For example, if you switch to level 3 and press the throttle, you will come only to the max speed of level 3.
n - Don't limit. Regardless the current PAS level, reach the speed limit set in P6 (or 80% of it like in some e-bikes, I am not sure).
HL (use the throttle for push-assistance aka walk boost):
Y - Speed will maintain at 6 km/h.
n - Speed will reach the limit set by HF (the default).
PA - The power-on password
PSd-Y - Use password (the default password is 1212). When PSd-Y is chosen, click "i" to enter the password.
Then, change the digit by up and down buttons, and click "i" to move to the next digit.
PSd-n - Don't use password (the default). When PSd-Y is chosen, click "i" to leave the PA setting.
Pb - Auto sleep
Range: 1-60 minutes (10 by default). 0 means no auto-shutdown.
