Hi, new to ebikes, this is my first one, although I used to ride around a 125cc whizzer on a shwinn frame almost a decade ago. I bought this guy - https://freegobikes.com/collections...ike-dual-battery-motor?variant=43061632991403 and like it so far but it has one very annoying "feature" that I would like to disable. When I pedal, it works for a bit but then suddenly engages the motor and starts throttling. I really dont like this feature, it actually just feels unsafe to me and kind of jerks me around a bit as it doesn't immediately throttle, it waits a bit before starting. I tried finding the PAS sensor, and I found something that looked like it attached directly to the pedals and followed it back through the wiring harness back to it's connection point but that didn't stop the auto throttling when pedaling. Is there a good way to disable this? Anyone have this same bike and disabled this who can help? Cheers!

You can set the delay or lag on the PAS thru the display. To where the bike accelerates as soon as the pedals move. Set the delay on the display to max delay & try that. If you don't like it start dialing down your PAS delay time.

Just so you can see, I got a Freego F3 Pro Max.

Hmm, i have a different display, mine is a g51. Do you know what buttons I need to press to make it swap to that mode? My buttons have +, M, and -. M Is used to change the odo, trip, volt, etc, holding it turns off the bike. + and - change the PAS level but flipping it to 0 turns off throttle entirely.

Get me a picture of your display. The front & the rear of it with the #'s on it. I'll try & find/figure out a answer for you.

Here is my display. Just for chits & giggles.

Lmao it's been so long idk if I remember how to access mine!

Also just curious what your bike tops out at mph wise? Mine topped out at 43mph per GPS before I added all the baskets & such.

Thanks.

I haven't gone too fast yet, mostly because I'm still trying to align the front brakes. They keep rubbing and any adjustment I do doesn't fix it

On that display that is on your bike, what is the highest # Your display can be set to?

Also that generic Amazon picture, of the display, don't help much, need the actual display #'s off of your display.

Does that display you have 19 or so "P" settings you can change?
I can take a picture but basically I think this controller locks me out of changing this "feature". Basically I have tried every different button combo and basically this is what I have.

"+" - Speed level up
Hold "+" - Headlight symbol comes on but does nothing, but mine also has a 2nd button set for the headlight, horn, and turn signals.
"-" - Speed level down
Hold "-" - Walk assist (gently pushes bike while walking)
M - Mode change
Hold M - Turn off and on
M and "+" - Max mph or cur mph
M and "-" - Nothing I can see

This is the PDF for it https://edbikes.co.nz/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/LCD-G51-Manual-1.pdf it has a pic

Ok new development. I pressed + and - together but it gives me a screen with a C on it and 4 numbers that seem to be a pin. Can't figure out what the password is though

Alrighty for future people who need to deal with this. Do this:

Hold + and -
Get to screen with C
Password is 2020 (may not be but that was mine)
Upon pressing M it swaps digits and the last M tries the code
When successful you will see P01 on the screen
Go to P09 using M
Change 2 to 1
No more pedal assist for no reason.
