Thinking about electrifying this tryke and how simple a hub motor would be to mount. Its as easy as bolting on a wheel motor minus the wheel. As you can see theres a standard bike wheel axle the sprockets are mounted to, then the chain. Its just a matter of re aligning the rear sprocket where it needs to be. Moving it doesnt even require welding.

Ooor, some type of gas engine would be simple to mount too. But would take some welding. To attach a standard metal or billet motor plate. The sprocket wouldnt have to me moved I'd just set the motor where it needs to be to sit aligned.

I have a threadless shock and front end. And other parts. Smaller rear wheels would be better. Those would add stability. Some 20 inch fat wheels or 24s. Only if I find some that come free. I have a better hydraulic F brake, tires, seat chain, and some more odds and ends. I have raceface bars but they might be too low for people. And some ppl like those hella wide california cruiser bars.

I just got to think what sized motor kit to use, and how big.

That would be awesome for someone who never drives a car. I do things like it for fun when ever its an option. But actually it could be useful / fun in fresh snow.

Decent Chinese forks. The head tube will add a few degree of needed pitch. For street duty they work relatively nice. I don't think I'd go DJing with them however.

The area that the axle is currently bolted to looks reasonably beefy. I already have a torue arm and slotted washers so the axle can't spin free.

Has that happened to anyone? I almost want to try it on purpose on a junker bike to see how much abuse the dropouts can take on an aluminum frame.

It looks like the axle is standard rolled steel, there is nothing special about it. Widening it a couple inches along with swapping to smaller wheels would make it a lot safer.

I have to resist putting a lot in to it being that its for sale. And everyone who modifies anything to make it better. Never ever gets that money back when its time to sell the bike or car, whatever it may be.

Whenever I sell anything I make sure it is safe and tuned.
