Hi there. Total newbie when it comes to bikes, hadn't ridden one in 20 years, recently was gifted an envo lynx folding bike when a friend upgraded, and it's mostly been great.

Recently though, I had some issues with the chain slipping/gears shifting incorrectly, and took it into a local shop. They said the derailleur hanger was bent and I also needed a replacement cable as it was quite worn. Got it fixed and returned, was fine for a bit but it soon after started having the same issue again, this time however, it caused the throttle & pas both to suddenly stopped working, the screen flashed an error code 6 and turned off. It now won't turn back on again.

I'm going to take it into a shop probably regardless, but in the meantime I'd really appreciate any insight or advice. I'm really hoping to not have to replace anything too expensive ._.

Error code 6 on an Envo lynx is a short circuit in the controller cable. I think you need to check for abrasions in the cable to the controller or around the zip ties that were replaced, perhaps too tightly, and have cut through the insulation. A bent derailleur hanger, now replaced, shouldn't have anything to do with this code. I just found a pic. You have a bunch of external cables running along the frame and it's a foldie. You can undo the zip ties and look for a chafe or a pinch and check there is enough room for them to move when you fold the bike. If you find a break in the wire you can tape it temporarily with electrical tape. You could also check the controller box, which I'm guessing is in that triangle that the battery plug goes into, to see if anything is jammed or damaged. I have to say it's a cute little thing.
