Do anybody know what break pads to buy? There are from time to time some to buy on the Engwe web page, but often out of stock and no reference to a model/make.

Some pictures mounted.

I would convert it to hydraulic brakes when the man has a hard time with brake pads you tell him to make a bigger hard time and make the system fluid brakes very helpful !!!

Thanks for the feedback all of you. The bikes (2 of them) are located at our summer place in Spain and I have limited tools and workspace here so trying to figure out things by asking around here. I will take out one of the pads and measure/picture them to be sure when buying a spare set.

As for hydraulic, I dont really see the need since the breaks are good. I have some trouble with contamination on the disks, but washing with alcohol quite often and that helps.

Shimano B05S fits. The original ones were completely worn out after 450km. Picture of the old ones.
Only 450km and they are that far gone? That's crazy! I've got 650 miles and my pads still look pretty good. Makes me wonder how many miles should we be getting on a set of brake pads? I live in hill country too and constantly worry about brake fade with some long descents.

Shimano B05S i use in my schwinn if the pads are that bad you might need a new disk and adjusting the breaks right matters e-bikes are heavy My shamano pads work real well. A lot better than a stock. Ones I got mine on Alibaba for like $5. Before Trump Hi, purchase new rotors and calbers from Alibaba. 55

My bike has something called sintered brake pads a term I wasn't familiar with even with all my years working on things. They seem to last a lot better than what he had. All I know is they stop good and never have squealed one time. They do sound like sandpaper on metal though, it's not loud just a low slow sanding sound.

I am hilly Spain - every trip is 500-900 downhill meters - so the breaks get a beating. I use the rear brake for long breaking so that has taken most of the wear. Did not replace from brakes since they were not that worn. I would think that the original ENGWE ones will not last more than 1500km in normal conditions.

I buy only Shimano stuff when doing replacements since they are known to be good. Did pay EUR 9,70 at the local bike shop here in town (Nerja, Malaga region). I support the local shop and dont buy on internet when it is possible. (Sometimes things are not found locally and there is no choice). I use the bike for vocational use which only means that maintenance need to happen during vacation - so timing is also important.
