Hello, I would like to buy an Engwe Engine pro 2.0.
Following the speed limit more present than before in Europe I would like to know where this restriction comes from and how to bypass it ?
Does it come from the controller or the display or from another place ?
Depending on where it comes from which part would need to be changed to be able to bypass it ?
(if you can give some exact reference of replacement pieces it would be wonderfull for exemple the non speed limit display seems to be the NC-81F ?)
Thank you in advance for your answers.

I should start by saying it's the controller and the display that decide the parameters for the different settings on an ebike. There is a store in the UK that sells non UK stock. You could talk to them. Engwe has changed some of the controllers programming. Controllers and displays always have to match. I don't know if you will also need a new display. The current Engine pro has a torque sensor, which means it needs a very specific controller. I do suggest you sort all of this out before you buy the ebike, just to keep your options open. There are a number of Engwe bike shops in England. ( Go look for the Engwe repair shop map for the UK or look through some of the Engwe derestricting threads on this forum). You may want to buy a used Engwe from one of them, one that you can derestrict and have it shipped over to France from England. Engwe has been changing a lot of things around. I bought a US version L20 2.0 very cheaply, but the controller was so crazy ( pedal assist # 2 jumps up to 29 mph) that I decided to rewire the entire bike with a programmable KT controller. There are a lot of threads on installing KT controllers and all manner of YouTube videos if you want to start to get a sense of how to do that. The Engine pro's torque sensor would currently limit your options though. Come back if you have more questions, after you have a look around.
