I have been gifted it.This is my first ebike. There is no charger dongle/adapter to connect to the battery so no way to charge factory battery.I would like to use a after market/UPP battery. Can I connect the replacement battery to the controller and make everything work? Thank you for your time

Three posts for the same question is more than enough.

You don't even bother to post a picture or a link.

Rude AND lazy, I won't make any effort whatsoever to assist such a total lack of consideration for others.

So, i have to guess that the battery has a charge port, otherwise it would be a one use ebike right?

Would you be able to take the cover off and see how the chargeport is wired?
Then you can find a charger to match and work for your situation.

You can plug a battery into a controller as long as it is the proper voltage match to the proper controller, such as 36v batt and 36v controller and as long as the connections are the same or you can solder/wire it to be so..... so on and so forth...etc..etc..etc..

The factory battery is from 2013.I would like to change it to see if it holds a charge but have my doubts.I don't have the bike yet.

So you'll need to either find another battery to hook up or charge the one you have on the bike.
Find a charger that works and go from there :)

Good Luck
