About 3 months ago, my Ecotric Peacedove fell 2 feet on it's side while I was walking it out of my garage. The motor was dead except for a low level hum sometimes when I hit the throttle. The mechanic said it's toast. Over two months ago, Ecotric said motor would be in stock in 2 months; recently, asked for an update; one again, "about 2 months." Obviously, Ecotric doesn't know when, or even if, a motor will be available. I'm afraid, at this point, only thing I can do is buy new. If any of you have any ideas or info about this, they would be greatly appreciated. Also, it is normal for a motor to fail after the bike is dropped 2 feet?

I'm not sure why it's toast. Maybe your hall sensor board came off, or some of the magnets fell out and the time to fix it, will cost more than a new motor. It's a small 350 watt, 36 volt motor. If you measured your drop outs on your wheel, I'm sure you could get any generic motor take it out of it's case and pop it in there. Do you have a plug near the motor or do the wires go all the way to the controller? Walmart has your whole bike for $417.00 free shipping. Amazon has motors with just the case for around $100.00. Biktrix sells a comparable entire rear wheel with motor for around $ 250.00. If you have a 9 pin motor plug on your bike the Biktrix should be plug and play. Although if you love the bike and went with the Walmart deal you would then have 2 batteries, so that's a bargain. I do think you might need a new ebike mechanic because he should have been able to tell you that there are a number of ways out of the situation.

If someone takes your motor out of the shell, have them count the magnets that and your plug type will help you decide on a replacement motor.
