News Ecells announced their closing this morning (4/28/25)

I had a bike on order from Ecells for the past three months of which two shipping dates were missed. I paid in full no less. I have not heard a peep from Ecells directly, so I disputed the charge on my credit card.

I could give two s**tz about anyone's opinion about politics. I ride bikes to get away from politics and try to forget about the quarter mil I lost in the market in the last 30 days.
 
Yes there's no reason it has to be all or none or all at once. The more we can do in our own borders the better in my opinion but again that doesn't mean not to get stuff life coffee and bananas and whatever else as long as the rest of the world agrees to play on equal footing which I believe is the whole idea in a nutshell! The last 50ish years we have given special rates to "developing nations" at our expense that needs to stop! Just as giving tax dollars away overseas or across borders needs to stop. Why should the people here's taxes pay for life elsewhere?

No most Americans do not understand the worth of actual work or making something new with your own hands.

Yes coffee and bananas could be grown here at the expense of research and hard work. Take a look at the guy in Minnesota growing and selling citrus year round. The earth, mother earth to some is capable of much more with a little human ingenuity.

Americans and likely most all people in the "first" world would benefit from learning the real value of creation and self worth from REAL honest work! Paper pushing and coding are certainly needed but many other things are needed much worse like real family life with quality not races for riches.

Good conversation glad we can all have opinions without BS now if we can just agree to disagree. lol

I think this falls into the category of discussing politics at Thanksgiving dinner. It is good to talk but we have to agree to stop before the dessert is served, otherwise we will all just end up throwing pies at one another. ( I have dibs on the pumpkin). ;)

That's a real drag, first not to get your bike, and then to see this kind of post. I'm sure that when Sondors eBikes bit the dust the same thing happened to people.
 
When I decided I wanted an ebike, I took a hard look at ecells. Just reading some of the stories of people putting bikes on order and not getting them, and the negative things I saw about the company, I went another route. I saw someone say, never custom order an ebike.

Just like the more recent habbit of our supposidly elected officials giving away OUR tax dolllars WITHOUT our permission! Every stinking one of them should be facing charges and spending years in jail. If individuals want to send money to other countries to help out that's wonderful but it should NEVER EVER for any reason come from our taxes without our express permission in each and every instance!

Sorry,this is not a democracy( despite what the uneducated believe) anybody with a couple of functioning brain cells could have seen this coming.

As goes "Elio,so goes Slate" and other startups,when the uppers start dipping in the till,the companies will soon disappear.i'ii bet the management wont miss many meals.

In places like Minnesota,we substitute energy for favorable climate,at least they have good soil and water.As Mike Patey sez"get to work"

Another forum I'm on started a thread just for political discussion. That takes pressure off of the other threads. It's amazing how fast the post count grows compared to the forum's main subject threads. I guess we are all paying a lot more attention to politics than on previous years. One very evident (to me, at least) thing is how well the divide-and-conquer strategy used by the Puppetmasters is working.

Yep. Divide and conquer is working. Anyone believing tax cuts for the largest corporations, tariffs on imports, and that our ruling class is NOT benefiting from these actions is out of touch with reality. They are going to believe what they are led to believe no matter it is hurting them the most.
