This lower geared more torque discussion is very interesting. I hope to enter into mtn ebiking soon, first timer. I love outdoor woods/trail/path riding, but my days of hard work are behind me at almost 60yrs now. How you guys rate the noise output of front, mid, and rear motors in general? I would prefer quieter the better. Haven't been around any, so all new to me. Youtube not really answering this for me so far. I would be on flat / light / moderate landscape changes.

Direct drive motors basically silent; geared motors very quiet; after 10 or so mph the wind makes more noise than the motor. Someone might post a utube of an rc or other very loud motor, but that's an anomaly.
