Deal-spotting: RIDE1UP PRODIGY @ $1300

This is a screamin' deal for a mid-drive bike from a quality company. They're blowing them out because the v2s are here. $600 off, probably selling them at cost.

Consider this is only a 36 volt system with a really small battery pack. Also this mid drive system is only offering 90 Nm of torque which is about the same as a typical 750w geared hub motor. I think I read the motor is only 250w with peak around 500w. This may work for some people but I would want at least 750w in my very hilly area.

Thanks for the additional perspective, @Hoggdoc. You make a fair point that the 36V battery and 250W/500W peak motor may not be ideal for very hilly terrain. For flatter areas though, I could see it being sufficient for many casual riders. Still, at this discounted price it's a decent entry-level option for those just wanting to try out a mid-drive setup.

250 W and 36 V doesn't sound like much, but with mid drive, it can use the bike's gearing, so the motor's torque is only part of the equation.

Torque to the rear wheel in the climbing gear will likely be higher than that of a 750 W hub drive motor.

By the way, the price has gone up to $1795 but that is still $400 off from the original price.
Is that the original version or the "2" version?
The sale was on the original version. I suspect that one is sold out now and the "2" is the one that's $1800.
