I bought a Cube Kathmandu Hybrid Bike from someone who had it shipped over from France. in riding it I noticed the pedal assist limit is set to the European standard of 25Kph (16 mph). This has The Bosch CX motor. I contacted Cube and they replied it is not possible to change this to the American standard of 20 mph.
My wife has a Gazelle with the US std and I can't keep up with her!! Is it really not possible to change this??
Thank You

Since this bike was originally sold in France I seriously doubt that they would make it easy to switch it to US standards. Outside of some very difficult changes, like hacking the programing or swaping out major components, the only thing I can think of is there a way you can change the size of your tire you input in the system to trick the bike to think it's going slower than it is.

Hop over to Reddit's thread on derestricting bosch motors. There seems to be a number of different chips available. Cube would be the last one to tell you.
