Hello all, I am new to the Forum. I would like to find a reasonably low-cost mountain bike / around town or that has 700c or 622 Wheels. Fairly good Hub Power Band and at least 40 miles range.. I'm not looking for an Iron Maiden or a high priced mountain bike I know where to find all those. Any suggestions or thoughts thanks in advance.

Hi, welcome to the forum. Sorry that you didn't get any replies to your post. I see from your other posts that you ended up purchasing a Gazelle Ultimate T10 Plus High Step. Looks like a decent quality ebike that you will get many years of fun out of.

If it's unlimited speed, it's not Class 3.

Here's a simple synopsis of CA eBike laws: https://www.dmv.ca.gov/portal/handbook/motorcycle-handbook/two-wheel-vehicle-operation/

I think maybe what you're after is an Motorized Bicycle, which, according to that page, would seem to let you have up to 3 kW (4 bhp) of power with a 30 mph top speed, pedals optional. A Ride1UP Revv1 meets the definition of either Motorized Bicycle or Class 2 or 3 eBike.

This is not a popular opinion around here, but why not consider a <150cc "Motor-driven Cycle". They really offer a lot for the money. I bought a 2009 Yamaha Zuma 125 this year for $1900, put some tires on it (another $300) and it was a great little ride. Cheap to insure and plate, minimal upkeep and gas. You can't get a decent eBike, even an illegal one, that will go 50 mph for 100 miles for $2200. Comparing the long-term cost of batteries vs. the typical combustion bike expenses, the combustion scooter comes out cheaper.

Welcome to the forum! If you’re talking about Class 3 and want unlimited speed, just a heads-up—most e-bikes are limited by law to 28 MPH (Class 3 limit). Finding a bike with no speed limit might mean looking at throttle-only or modified models, but that can affect legality and safety. For a good mix of power, range, and speed within legal limits, bikes like Aventon Level.2 or Ride1Up 700 are solid choices. Just remember to check local rules before you buy. Hope this helps!
