SLA's (sealed lead acid) have different charge characteristics in that they are charged up to 14.4v. This charging has to be done in 3 phases: 1. charge up to 90% capacity. 2. pulse charge or top up charge to 100% 3. a maintenance charge. Because of the higher discharge (DOD) an e-bike's SLA batteries will get 300 to 400 cycles (charge, discharge) and the higher the DOD each cycle, the lower number of cycles or battery life. If you are hooking in Parrallel to charge my assumption is you have a 12v car charger and are only charging to 13.8v which is only 95% for an SLA battery.
