Let's say I bought a new controller with the same 5 pin connector for a display input. Can I keep my same display or will there be compatibility issues?
Given the voltage is the same obviously.

i will be interested to hear if this is also possible.
long story short, i have bought a bike, they did to versions, standard and pro, i brought the pro. only difference i can see is that its mid drive. the standard has alot more features than the pro. i specifically wanted usb charging and this display doesnt support that. so im thinking of upgrading it, or packing the whole bike backl in the box and return it to sender for a refund.

The "Display" is usually also the control computer so you may encounter some issues swapping it out for another make/model. Some re-programming may be needed (if the unit even allows that).

I suggest checking the exact pins definition first. There are different protocols for both Controller and Display. If you can not confirm all parameters are the same, then ERROR CODE comes when you connected.
