Well while agree that increasing battery voltage can increase maximum speed you also have make sure the controller can handle the extra volts.

Have you contacted the seller to see if there a unlock procedure for that make and model? Thats where I go first. You may be able to find some help on Youtube by doing search to unlock whatever make and model it is.
