Went for a chilly ride this morning (38°f) and at the halfway mark my back tire felt squishy and made a little noise. Found a very small piece of wire in the casing. Pumped up the tire and just barely made it home, and while I was taking my gear off the tire went completely flat. Making repairs now, so I can get out and enjoy some more of this sunny but cool weather. Cheers!

That is a bummer! Glad you made it back okay.
I haven’t had my first flat yet, but I feel prepared, and when it happens I’ll be like the dad in A Christmas Story trying to change his tire is record time. :)

Looking at your avatar picture, I’m guessing that is a rear hub, Snipe? Any problem getting that back wheel off and disconnecting it from power?

Yep, rear hub. No problem removing wheel or electrical connector. I was admiring my handy work after putting bike back together, and I noticed the tire was mounted the wrong way . Directional tire
DUH!
So I did the job twice, and now I'm tired, and don't feel like a ride. Tomorrow I'll give it go . Cheers!

If you are just patching it. You could do while it is still on the bike. It is real good if you can see what gave you the flat. Just pop the bead and pull out the part of the tube needing the patch. I have done it many times on many bikes. In less then 5mins you could be patched up and ready to roll. You could also get AAA they will pick up your ebike and take it where you want alone with any car you may be driving. You need to get their RV plan. It cost me $119 a year.

I've been on 2 wheels many a year, and definitely know all the tricks to repairing a flat. I have a pickup truck, and I could just make a call and load the bike up if needed, but thanks anyway.
