Built a electric bike and new to the forum

Yes I am a detectorist . I have been going to a few parks around here and my car burn to much gas, so now I am going to e-bike it to a few parks and save $ 16. a day :)
xp deus and a minelab equinox :) Yeah

I went with a Bafang 750w motor mid drive with a 48v 20ah battery on a Townie aluminum bike.
First time out I went 20 miles on it, Yesterday I took it on a 32 mile trip and I still had 53% battery after returning in sport mode due to fact it was getting dark out. Also where we parked at we was worried about them locking the gate.

You mentioned using a older bike to build you e-bike and I was wondering if it has disk brakes on the hub or the older fashion brakes that rub against the edge of the rim. My old Norco has the brakes that rub against the rim and this is what sort of stopped me from going further with it. braking is so important.
