Hi All, any bright soul able to shine some light on this issue?

I have a Bafang BBS02B 48V 750W, fitted to my bike. It has worked very well for about 2 years. However, recently there has been an intermittent glitch.

The power from the motor cuts out, and battery level bars dissapear, but the display unit stll has power and stays on. The "box" image around where the battery level bars are usually displayed flashes like it is searching to find the battery level while this is going on. Sometimes the motor power and the battery level reading will come back on it's own, sometimes I need to switch battery, or the display unit, on and off to bring these back. Sometimes this switching off and on makes no difference.

I have triedd wiggling all the cables and disconnecting and reconnecting them, but that also made no difference.

Any help or suggestions would be very much appreciated.

Kind regards,

William

Hi William. Does your lcd show the battery voltage? I'm having a sort of similar problem(I've posted about it) my voltage fluctuates up and down and when it's doing this the bike will stop working. Like you sometimes switching off/on fixes it sometimes not. I'm wondering if it's the same issue?

Hi Sorry, no my lcd doesn't show battery volts.

I had that problem with one of my bikes that used whats called a Dorado style battery. It sit's in a metal frame and when you remove or install it from the frame you do so from the side unlike the Hailong or shark style that slides back then lift's off. Turned out to be the battery cradle which I managed to adjust. I am still using it and it now has a velcro strap wrapped around the battery and cradle to keep the battery nice and tight. Havn't had a problem since.

Thanks for that Hugh, I'll have a look at at the battery cradle, However, I am thinking it is not so likely to be that because, other than the battery level section on the control panel fading out and showing no reading, when the there is no motor power, the rest of the control panel stays fully on. In your case, was did the rest of the control panel stay lit even when the battery level reading faded out?

Honestly it was quite a long time ago and I can't say for sure about the display.

Hi again, could Fighting Haggis and WilliamFM list exactly which displays they have? If they are the same, then I would start to grow suspicious.
