I had good news yesterday afternoon. My Cardiologist has cleared me for bike riding. In the last year, between having both knees replaced, a stent put in, a cardiac ablation for Afib, and a half dozen other procedures this year, I finally get to ride my Lectric XP4 750 Stepover Long Range. I had a week after buying it before medical issues shut me down.

During the wait, I added a 40AH 2nd battery and can't wait to see what conditions it has improved. Hopefully this evening.

Real happy to be able to ride again.

Are you sure the battery is 40 Ah? That’s enormous…

Glad you’re “back in the saddle again.” Nothing feels quite like getting out on a bicycle for a ride. Even motorcycles are different.

I'll know in a little while, but the vendor has a good reputation and seemed above board. The Battery is enormous and heavy. I will actually weigh it one day, but the scale is upstairs and the battery downstairs....still a big trip yet.

Chumley, congrats on getting back on the bike and getting through all those health issues. I really like the way you have juiced up your bike, it looks exceptional.

OK, went on 24 mile, hilly road. Last time I went 16 miles and the battery was exhausted. This time I went a total of 34 miles on the dual battery, and still had 65% battery (second battery) left. The controller only does 10% increments and shows 60% left on the OEM battery. 25 - 30 miles is the most I can physically do right now, so the second battery did the trick. Very happy. I suspect the 50-60 mile range in the hills by me is close to the actual range at this point.

Also, I noticed someone asked if the bike was stable hands free. Mine is. I actually was able to ride without touching the handlebars. So at least my bike has good wheel alignment and balance.

So I have a total of 72 miles on the bike now.:cool::cool::cool::cool::cool:

That sounds like a very good ride to me, and a long on as well.
I am not as stable as you and really can't even think of riding hands free. At least three points of contact with the bike at all times is my mantra.
(feet, hands, and rear end in the saddle unless hitting bumps).
It really seems like you have over come all of your health challenges!

Chumley, do you have a link to that 40Ah battery?
I purchased the battery from Northeast Battery Systems

This is a static web page. Get the phone number and call Kevin - he is the proprietor. Discuss what you are trying to do with him. You can then figure out a configuration and components you need for your application.

He isn't a drop shipper. He creates and builds the packs. So there is no specific price list because your setup might be different than mine, despite the same capacity battery. Kevin is pleasant to talk to, he is not high pressure either. His prices are better than anything the OEM's sell, but keep in mind, the battery is the single most expensive part on an Ebike. So try not to get sticker shock.

Good news for me: 100 miles ... Finally.

Finally made it to 100 Miles!!!!!!!

I received the Bike on July 15th with hopes of riding to strengthen my legs post knee surgery. Of course, I had to have heart surgery just after receiving it, so ended up on limited physical exertion for 3 weeks. Get on the bike, and the dreaded motor noise started. Lectric came through, but essentially 4 more weeks of not riding.

Lectric was excellent per customer service. Local bike repair shop (maybe mobile shop is better terms) fixed it and then it rained and rained.
FINALLY, a nice day, had to get at least a short ride in.

So hit the century mark, and health and weather allowing, should be putting on many more.

The second 40AH battery really improved all around operation.
