I been having a hard time turning the battery on or off. I don't know if it is the switch (1 second for On. 3 seconds for off) or the battery internals.
Once I get it turned on I have no problem riding 25 miles. When I try to turn it off at the battery I give up and just turn off at the handlebars before I charge it.
Bought the bike on Black Friday 2023 with the 2 year warranty. Aventon sent me a new battery.
Is the battery fixable?
Thank you,
Terry

Hi, so, you are hoping to repair your original battery? Given how expensive Aventon batteries can be, I would send it out to Northeast Battery Systems in Conn. Everyone here speaks very highly of them and they also mention how equitable they can be. You can ask them their cost for testing and if it is simply a lost solder connection to the switch or the Bms, I think it would be very worthwhile.

Annieolnie,

Thanks for the recomendation. Very quick response, wish they had better news.

Hi Terry, I believe that switch is specific to that battery and is required to turn the battery on. I don't have a resource for those parts, unfortunately..

That is too bad. This is one of my worries with Aventon, that they are becoming too proprietary.

I had the same issue with my battery. I took it to an LBS, where I bought the bike, as they are an authorized dealer for Aventon. They could not fix it either, I think it's a known problem with the battery. The LBS facilitated a free replacement. They told me the switch and battery are sourced together, and the switch cannot be replaced or repaired. They said they could put on an aftermarket switch, but I already had second battery, so I gave them the old battery since they have a large rental fleet. I don't think it's a "proprietary" thing as much as it's a "it's not really our battery, so we don't know" thing.

So I guess the short of it is that it can be "fixed" if you want a do-it-yourself deal.
