I was wondering about a small trailer for pets mounted on the rear wheel of Emma 3 Ebike. Is it universal and do I need to know the specs of the rear axle?

Velotric makes an axle extension that you bolt the trailer fitting onto, it goes on the end of the axle, which on their cargo bike is an m12 thread. Otherwise, on a Iot of ebikes there aren't enough axle threads left to bolt the fitting onto. I found a similar one on Aliexpress for a fifth the price, but it turned out to be an m10, so that was no good. I wound up bolting the hitch post through the hole where the foot pegs would go. It seems perfectly strong, so, depending on the size of your dog, that might work for you. My trailer only holds around 60 lbs.. The foot peg bolt hole is suppose to allow someone to stand on the pegs, which is more stress than I intend to put on it. I will add a Google pic so you can see the fittings.

My inline single wheel trailer is made by Vevor. I am absolutely not impressed either by the build quality or the engineering.
The coupler mechanism is very rinky dinky and must be tightened with tools to the point that the metal bends or the trailer unhooks.
The coupler arms are straight and so are splayed when placed on the coupler pegs.
The trailer kickstand must be tied up or it falls down and scrapes the road.
The steering and suspension mechanisms are loose and cannot be tightened enough to eliminate slop which makes the trailer jiggly.
When all is connected the trailer does pull true and track nicely, and it does handle a heavy load ok.
The coupler pegs don’t go outside the axle nuts, they replace the axle nuts.

I would not recommend a trailer made by this company.
