Any reason I can't keep my E-MTB outside under a good cover

Here it is the birds that are the pests, the Pidgeons sh*t on the window sills, the big black crows are nasty and agressive and the Blackbirds, Thrushes and other small birds roost in the bike shed roof and sh*t all over the bikes! There are NO bird feeders here!

What kind of squirrels do have? I put nuts out on my balcony to encourage the Red Squirrels to visit, beautiful little things and certaily not pests!
We have Gray Squirrels across the US. Medium size. Gray and brown with a white belly. They are the most aggressive.

Fox Squirrels in the countryside. These are brownish and large, with a tan belly. I haven't been able to watch them up close, as I've always lived near a city.

Red squirrels in the north. Reddish and about rat sized, white belly.

Google AI search result from "Which type of squirrel is the worst pest?"
The eastern gray squirrel is widely considered the worst pest due to its destructive behavior, especially in urban areas and when it nests in homes. It can cause extensive damage to structures by chewing wires and insulation, contaminates living spaces with urine and droppings, and can also be a source of health risks like bites or the transmission of parasites and bacteria. In addition to structural damage, it is also a destructive garden pest. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]

Why gray squirrels are considered the worst pest
  • Structural damage: They are notorious for chewing through electrical wires, tearing up insulation, and damaging woodwork in attics and walls.
  • Health risks: When they infest a home, they can pose health risks by contaminating food and water sources and carrying parasites like fleas and ticks. They may also bite if they feel threatened.
  • Garden destruction: Gray squirrels can dig up and eat new plants, bulbs, and seeds, and raid bird feeders.
  • Invasive status: In some regions, such as the UK and parts of the US, the gray squirrel is an invasive species that outcompetes native species and can be a significant threat to local wildlife, like the native red squirrel. [1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8]

I've heard firsthand accounts of them eating wire insulation. My uncle had some chew through the soffit to get into his attic; $2k worth of damage.

On my property, chipmunks are the worst, as they dig under my air conditioner slab, causing it to crack and sink. I get them with rat trips baited with peanut butter. They have plenty of territory in the adjacent forest; they don't need to be undermining mine. ;-)

Here's a smart squirrel story.

My other uncle used to shoot them with a low-powered Red Ryder BB gun. It would hurt them, but not break the skin or kill them. He was hoping to scare them away. The Red Ryder BB gun has BBs in the barrel; one can hear them rolling back and forth when the gun is pointed up or down.

The squirrels did not end up staying away, but they learned first to run when the door cracked open a bit. Then, they learned to run when they heard the BBs rolling in the barrel when the gun was picked up, inside the closed door!

That uncle gave up shooting them and just feeds them now. I think he will soon find them in his attic, hehehe.

Yes I thought it must be those, I'm familier with them from th UK where they were imported and escaped captivity and have decimated the native red sqirrel population there. Apparently they carry a form of TB to which they are immune but which is fatal to the reds. No greys here yet the red ones live in the trees and other than making a mess when burying a nut they are really cute. The red squirrels here vary quite a lot in colour I have seen them anything from blond to pitch black though always with a white bib, same breed but like people different hair colour.
