Aniioki A9 - thumb throttle wanted

I have not attempted to wire up a thumb throttle for my A9 yet. I have some male and female extensions that I purchased from Ali express that I thought I could cut and rearrange the.wires but was unable to get a pin assignment from aniioki and haven't pulled the wires off.my bike and tested them to see what is what. Had too many other projects that were more pressing.

I agree though I hate the twist throttle (and the grips) so maybe I'll get.to it this summer. Arthritic right hand will appreciate the.change to thumb throttle. (58 years old motorcycles).
YA it's really bad it's also unsafe and at these speeds I can't Believe someone at this company didn't speak up during the testing phases (if that even exists) ... I keep pinching my right thumb on the gear switch next to it as well ... If I can't successfully figure out how to do this it's a deal breaker for me. If I make any progress or not I'll let you know

Thanks I would appreciate the info. I loosened the shifter and left it loose as I don't really use it since I rarely pedal the beast anyway. It keeps it out of the way. I have 1400+ miles now and still really do like the bike. Throttle and grips are the only real issue I have with it now besides my battery indicator on the display
Once I hit 30% I'm basically 1 mile from completely dead battery. Stays 100% for 15 miles though. I chalk it up to a calibration of the display. Range is great just need to be aware that 30% is functionally no more battery. I have the 2024 A9 so your display.may be more accurate in that sense.

There is also a thumb adapter that people have started to 3D print that goes over the twist area that might help. A hack you can try is to put a larger zip tie on the twist part of the throttle with the "button" part of the tie for your thumb to hit ( it helps to take a lighter and melt any of the sharp spots where the ties tail pops through). If that seems to work then one of the 3D printed ones would be useful for you.

I've tried a couple different thumb throttles but they gave me error on the display so pin assignments may be incorrect. Connectors were good but error. Im used to the throttle but much prefer the thumb throttle so not a deal breaker for me but I don't really care for the grips either. Would like to replace them but that will only be possible if I can change the full grip throttle out. Still overall Very happy with the bike. Minor annoyances at this point. I wish Aniioki would offer a thumb throttle, I bet they would sell some.

So, it would appear that Addmotor throttles have the control at the bottom from the notch. The problem is that they would have the polarity reversed. What you could do is also buy a throttle extension open it up and swap the left with the right. That would cross the wires over without messing up your throttle if you make a mistake. It would also give you more to work with. You would just have to double check for polarity. They dont make it easy, do they?

Perhaps anioki is sending out different throttles with different batches of controllers, so make sure you test your pinouts without assuming the above photos are correct. You don't want to fry your controller with reversed polarity.
