I wanted to say that I had a negative issue with something regarding my new bike, and despite my question, they closed my ticket and “merged” it into something else - aka merged into the abyss - I’ve had responses from them with regard to a general question, but I guess they don’t accept negative responses- is this typical of other manufacturers ? This really irritated me

Unfortunately, I think this is one of the penalties we pay for having bikes from China. Even local support from who's distributing the bikes, usually have their origin in China and they do business in an entirely different way than we accustomed to. I don't know what the answer to that is. It's just part of the game I suppose.
Maybe ask a question here in a form and somebody might have an answer for you. You never know.
