Adjusting gears?

Is there a way to adjust the gears? While riding today pedaling manual only I noticed 1st gear continually slips in and out of gear. The only way to keep it in gear is to hold the lever down with my thumb. It's a Senada Saber Pro with a 7 speed Shimano gearset. Thanks
